For my BFA Portfolio at least. We had a good 30-40 people show up. Many from an crafts fair on the same day (for the food) but it was still pretty fun. And of course, I had to have been talking to someone when a large group was looking and talking about my exhibit. 😕But I was taking to the Dean so it wasn't so bad 😏 and he gave me some suggestions for people I should look up and who I can get in touch with that do, pretty much, what I'm doing.
My family came up Friday morning. I showed them my exhibit as well as my studio, a little mini tour of where I spend 90% of my time. They seemed to like it but you can't really judge family. But it was awesome to show them all my hard work.
My birthday was saturday!🎊🎁🎊and I actually got stuff!😵😋I got some shoes, boots, shirts and my pops took me out to a movie and Japanese food! Dracula Untold isn't in the cheaper cinemas yet and I was not interested in any of the newer movies, so I saw 'No Good Deeds' with Tarahji P Henson and Idris Elba. It was a pretty interesting movie and had some unexpected twist. And, of course, Ms. Henson was no damsel in distress, at least most of the time, which made me very happy. Nothing makes me cringe more that that trope. Actually most of the women where pretty strong even though...😕 watch the movie. I'm not going to spoil it. I might write a review on my other blog though.
My grandma made dinner for me today and I got to see the new Hercules with the Rock. As an action girl, of course I enjoyed it. It wasn't entirely what I thought it would be (him doing the 12 labors) but it had some faithfulness to the myth. HD is a horrible idea, I don't know why people like it. 😕 but still an enjoyable movie!😏
So, for this break... I have my individual project for BookArts and I really need to start on my research paper. I knew it was a bit of a fat chance of me actually reading the books over the break, so I just brought the print-outs.
As I've, probably, already stated, I am making a pine 'bamboo' scroll. Still not 100% sure of what I'm going to do but I think I'm going to tie it in with my portfolio stuff. I just have to doodle out some ideas. I'm thinking of doing some wood burning and then some varnish stains. Or I might just do the staining.😕
I'm probably going to have to crank out my painting the day I get back to school and then I have to do my photography portfolio. Still need to write my artist statement for that. I have very little clue what I'm going to write about.
I still plan on getting plenty of sleep and eating a LOT of great food!
I hope everybody has a phenomenal Thanksgiving and some much needed rest!
Much Love,
Hema❤️

It just hit me...
(Last week actually) A big part of my plans was to get money to pay for studio time, but with my crazy schedule… I’m very rarely ever going to get to go😕🙁☹️
That sucks… it really does😣
I’ve been plotting and planning for all this stuff to make molds, do glaze and additive testing, and a lot of other things. AND I won’t even be able to do any of them. 😒
On a less sucky note, I have already started on some ideas for drawings and (possibly) paintings to take that head-space for awhile. I’ve already did some experiments for the imagery I want to do and started on on
A day late but more than a dollar even!
Lol! It's been a couple of weeks but I finally have something worth reporting....
I finally got a job!!
Not necessarily the job I want (retail, and it's only part time) but I'm still really happy and blessed to have it. Any money is good money. I've gotten paid twice so far and most of the money has gone to stuff I needed and student loans but a little of my last check and the next will go towards some more fun things. Like getting some of the resin I want.
I'm not 1000% sure if I said this the last time but I'm think of moving away from my idea of instillations to working on models or a more exhibit type of setup. I'm thinking thi will
The Die was Cast...
And obviously since I didn't come up here with elating news, I didn't get into grad school.
I most likely need to create a whole new portfolio if I were to apply again but I'm more than a little over it. I think I'm just going to make the stuff I want to make and try to do my own gallery showing somewhere. Or make a really swanky website (even though I suck at computers).
But on a better note, I have had an interview!!!
And I have the second tomorrow. It's not a dream job or anything but it is work and I really need money! As much as I love my family I really want to get out and see new people every now and then and save up for my own plac
A bit has happened...
Not much but a bit.
My updated grad portfolios are done, dusted, and sent. So now I just have to play the waiting game til April or May😔. It's annoying and nerve-wreaking but I'm trying not to stress it.
I have decided to end the continuous "of the days." They don't get many reblogs or likes so it's a lot of searching and stress for nothing. But I will post interesting quotes and pics I find and I will be leaving the tags up. I was really debating how to end things but it was kinda done for me when I totally forgot for 2 days straight🤣🤣. I may or may not pick these up again on day. I started posting to occupy my mind
